Valentines day is around the corner.Take the opportunity to give a gift to your partner and show her in diamonds what you have not often told her in person.It really doesn't matter what you spend on a gift -it's the thought behind it.You don't need to spend a fortune on a diamond set necklace to capture her heart.
Surprise her and book a table in a posh restaurant and over a tall glass of red wine pull out the gift box.For centuries diamonds have been a girl's best friend - Valentines day 2010 is no exception!

Designing for diamonds

When a potential client comes to us to design a piece of jewelry for them - the first rule in the book is the most appropriate: "know thy customer".Will she want to wear it everyday? Will it be a signiature item?Will it be worn for that special occasion?

Once we know these basics we can move on to discussing style and trends.I have discovered over the years that most women will wait for me to suggest and propose a few options,depending on the season's trends and fashions.
